I’ve been super busy between trying to keep up with the boys, the house, and avid coupon shopping (read: saving my family buttloads of money). Somehow, through the lack of sleep, perpetual PMS, and Gavin prematurely hitting the “Terrible Two’s”, I’ve also managed to squeeze in a few large craft projects for others. A few of these included deadlines, so I had to call in for reinforcements (Hi Mom!). Whew! Take a look at what I’ve been up to…

In addition to the Dr. Seuss baby shower invitations I made, I also made these adorable cupcake toppers…

The photo above is just the start, the “prototypes”. I had to make 32 of these babies! It took me 4+ hours to complete it all, not including designing them on the computer. Did you know a craft punch could make your arms feel like Jell-O? Yeah, especially for a wimp like me!

I also made 32 (girly but mature) invitations for a surprise party. This package included the matching address labels, return address labels, envelope seals, and some other note cards that were requested. It took 3 hours just to cut, glue, and assemble the invitations themselves (and that was with my Mom and I steadily working together). Here’s a sneak peak. I had to blur out the details and can’t post any other items, since the party is a SURPRISE…

Lastly, I created an invite for a Pinkalicious themed party for a friend’s soon-to-be 4-year-old. BTW, this is the cutest book with a really nice message…

I’ve yet to print or cut these since the party details are still in the works. But as you can see, I’ve been BUSY. And there’s also other projects I don’t have pictures of. I do, however, have a freebie that I will post very soon!

Dr. Seuss Baby Shower Invitation

I think it came out super cute and I’m so excited for the shower!

Other than that, just super busy cooking and hosting the MIL. Surprisingly, we’ve all had a really great time! Both of my boys are super attached to “Gamma” right now and I think there’s going to be a little meltdown when she leaves tomorrow. I’ve had fun playing hostess and partaking in a little Mommy Elixir :) It’s pretty awesome to have a third person around to help with the kids, enabling Mommy to get a lot done. We’ve been pretty active, braving Chuck E. Cheese, the community pool, jaunts to the playground, and Daddy’s birthday dinner. The kids are eatin’ it up!

One weird moment last week: ran into the bosslady the other day while coming back from lunch with my ex-co-worker buddy Jan. I had just dropped her off in front of her building when I rounded the corner and saw bosslady driving in. I said “what the heck!” and drove over to where she was parked to say “Hello!”. She seemed pretty shocked to see me, but was super friendly. I felt a little twang of nostalgia, a sense of loss for the past. But I got over it pretty quickly after driving off ;) Let’s just say I’m totally grateful for this opportunity that I have to stay at home and not be someone’s office monkey anymore :) Every single day with my kids is a GIFT!
